How often is the diaper disinfected?

The diaper must be thoroughly washed to eliminate all traces of ammonia and bacteria in the feces, otherwise these things will cause a rash and may also lead to infection. How often should the diapers be disinfected?

Even if it is cleaned frequently, there will be some harmful dirt remaining in the baby's diaper, which makes the child's butt in an unhygienic environment, which is easy to cause eczema. In fact, the detergent itself may also remain, so baby diapers should be thoroughly cleaned and disinfected after a certain period of time. The oil secreted in the baby's skin and the ammonia in the bath water remain on the diapers, and they also need to be disinfected regularly. Although there are many ways to sterilize diapers, boiling in boiling water is the easiest and best known one.

step

1. Throw away solid waste. Newborns may not have any solid excrement, because breast milk excrement is usually watery, and milk powder excrement is also relatively wet and not easy to get rid of. However, older children or toddlers will have some solid excrement when they start to eat solid food. Before washing and disinfecting diapers, throw solid waste into the toilet.

2. Use the washing machine to clean the diapers. Disinfection before washing may leave permanent stains.

Rinse the diaper with cold water.

After rinsing, rinse again with hot water at a higher temperature. Use a mild detergent that does not add dyes and fragrances, and the dosage is only half or a quarter of the recommended amount.

Put the washed diaper into warm water.

Put it in cold water and wash it again according to the beginning of the wash.

3. Make a large pot of boiling water. A large soup pot or aluminum kettle is best, but if you don’t have either, use the kettle you own. Just make about half or three-quarters of hot water.

4. Dip the diaper in boiling water. Old diapers without a waterproof layer can be completely soaked, but if you are using a newer type of waterproof polyurethane laminated fabric outer lining, you cannot completely immerse the diaper. Although polyurethane laminated fabric is also a kind of cloth, the waterproof plastic-like elements in the cloth will dissolve in boiling water. To remove this layer of cloth, immerse the other parts in water.

Depending on the size of the pot, only soak 1 to 3 diapers or interlinings at a time. Each diaper must be fully exposed to hot water, otherwise the disinfection effect will not be as good as expected.

Do not let the plastic buttons touch the wall of the pot. The buttons can withstand the high temperature of boiling water, but they may melt when they touch the wall of the pot.

5. Boil the diaper or interlining for 5 to 10 minutes. In the first 1 to 2 minutes, clamp the diaper with a clip and rotate it back and forth to ensure that the entire diaper is in contact with hot water. Then let the diapers boil in boiling water for as long as possible. Stir occasionally with a clamp to make sure that every part of the diaper is in full contact with the boiling water.

Some people suggest only cooking for 30 seconds, but the longer it is cooked, the better the disinfection effect. If you cook it often, only a few minutes at a time is enough.

6. Change to new water every time you cook. After cooking the first batch of diapers and interlining, drain the waste water, refill the pot, and cook the second batch with fresh water. The ammonia, detergent residues, and dirt are all dumped along with the waste water. The disinfection effect of waste water is not as good as that of new water. If you have been using the same pot of water for several batches, the last batch of diapers will not be disinfected but contaminated.

7. Put the polyurethane laminated fabric in an insulated bowl. Put the polyurethane laminated fabric layer down in an insulated bowl, a large glass bowl is best.

8. Make boiling water in a pot or pot. Do not let the water boil, because the waste water will damage the polyurethane laminated fabric. Just keep the water hot. Be careful, replace the water as soon as bubbles appear.

9. Pour hot water carefully on the polyurethane laminated fabric and soak it for 5 minutes.

10. Without detergent, use the washing machine to wash the diaper and interlining again. Rinse with high-level standard hot water, and then rinse with warm and cold water accordingly.

11. Dry the diapers. Dry the diaper in the sun.

Alternatively, you can also use a lower temperature dryer to dry. Drying is also a method of disinfection.
