Carrying milk is not an easy task. Every day I go to and from get off work with large bags and small bags. I have to find time to express milk at work. After the milking, a new worry arises: Does the milking machine need to be cleaned and disinfected?
If you want it, you have to squeeze it three or two times a day, which is much troublesome to clean; if you don’t, will the expressed breast milk contain bacteria? It’s really distressing!
So, do you really need to sterilize the breast pump every time you finish milking?
In fact, it is not necessary to sterilize the breast pump every time after pumping. Just clean the breast pump after each pumping.
Simple cleaning, I believe there is no need to do more teaching. As for how to carefully clean and disinfect the breast pump, we will talk to you below.
1. After using the breast pump, rinse each part that has been in contact with breast milk with cold water as soon as possible to prevent breast milk from adhering to the breast pump.
2. Clean the parts with special detergent for baby bottles, and then rinse each part with hot water for 10-15 seconds to avoid detergent residue.
3. The cleaned parts can be air-dried naturally on a clean paper towel or a special drying rack.
4. After the parts are dry, they can be assembled for next use.
5. When re-assembling, be careful not to touch the inside of the parts that may directly contact the breast milk.
In addition, if you encounter the following situation: the baby has thrush, it is recommended to boil every day for disinfection.
In fact, it is the steps mentioned above: After cleaning, put the breast pump parts in boiling water for 5-10 minutes (or follow the time indicated in your breast pump instructions), and then air dry.
If you don't need it in normal times, put the breast pump in a clean bag and put it in the refrigerator or ice pack after pumping. You can use it directly when you pump next time. You can clean and disinfect after returning home.
