Newborn 0-6 Months

Start with five everyday needs, then add convenience products around your routine.

· Sleep: A crib or bassinet with a firm, flat mattress and fitted sheet.

· Feeding: Breastfeeding supplies or bottles and formula, depending on your feeding plans.

· Diapering: Diapers, wipes, and diaper cream.

· Basic care: Comfortable clothing, a thermometer, and a nasal aspirator.

· Travel: A properly installed rear-facing car seat.

From there, Grownsy nursery essentials can help with specific needs, such as bedside access for night feeds or gentle suction for stuffy noses.

Have the day-one basics ready; choose the extras around the routine you expect. Prepare a safe sleep space, feeding supplies, diapers, clothing, and a rear-facing car seat before birth.

If you already plan to bottle-feed frequently, a bottle washer may be worth buying early because it combines washing, sterilizing, drying, and storage. A milk cooler can wait until you're pumping away from home, while an infant scale is most useful when your clinician recommends tracking weight. Buy ahead for clear needs rather than trying to predict every situation.

Yes, our ergonomic carriers are suitable for newborns, provided they include adequate head support and keep the baby in a safe M-position (knees above hips). Always check the minimum weight requirement (usually 7-8 lbs) and use the recommended infant insert if necessary to ensure proper positioning and airway safety.

A bedside bassinet may suit your early routine better, while a crib generally offers longer use. A smaller bedside setup keeps your little one close for nighttime feeds and check-ins without sharing your bed.

Grownsy's  bassinet sleeper offers six height settings and all-around mesh, helping with bedside placement and visibility. Whichever you choose, use a compliant model with a firm, flat sleep surface and no loose bedding. Compare our baby bassinets and move to a crib when your baby reaches any stated usage limit.

The baby scale can be introduced immediately after bringing your baby home. While your pediatrician tracks official weight, a home scale provides peace of mind and allows you to monitor daily feeding progress and weight gain, which is highly beneficial for newborns in the 0-3 month period.

It can be, especially if gentle motion helps your little one settle during supervised awake time.

· Try different movements: Grownsy's infant swing offers front-to-back and side-to-side motion with five speeds, giving you options to find what your baby enjoys.

· Keep expectations practical: Some babies enjoy swinging, whereas others prefer being held or spending time on a play mat.

· Reserve it for awake time: Use the harness and follow the model's limits. If your baby falls asleep, move them to a firm, flat crib or bassinet.

Absolutely. Especially, a bottle warmer earns its place when you frequently warm refrigerated milk or handle nighttime bottles. While a bowl of warm water can work, a dedicated appliance gives you a repeatable warming routine without preparing a fresh water bath each time.

Our bottle warmer collection includes dual-bottle models and options with timers and automatic shutoff, so you can choose around your feeding schedule. Milk doesn't have to be warm, however, if your baby accepts it cool or at room temperature. Always check the temperature before feeding.

Not if your bottle washer already includes a sterilizing function.

· Washing removes residue: Bottles and parts need cleaning after each use.

· Sanitizing reduces remaining germs: Daily sanitizing is particularly important for babies under 2 months, premature babies, or those with weakened immune systems.

· A combined appliance handles both: 4-in-1 bottle washer from Grownsy uses 26 spray jets and combines washing, steam sterilizing, drying, and storage, reducing the need for separate equipment.

If you're building your setup from scratch, explore our bottle washer collection for a combined option.

Certainly—just check which part of preparation it handles. A powder dispenser organizes measured portions, whereas  instant warmer offers adjustable water temperature and a boil function; it doesn't measure or mix the powder for you.

That can simplify water preparation at night. However, powdered formula isn't sterile: babies under 2 months, premature babies, and those with weakened immunity need extra preparation precautions, including mixing with very hot water and cooling before feeding. Follow the formula instructions and your clinician's guidance when choosing and using an instant warmer.

Keep suction gentle and use a tip and setting approved for your baby's age.

· Loosen mucus first: Plain saline drops can help with sticky mucus before suction.

· Start low: Follow the positioning instructions and use the lowest effective setting. Avoid deep insertion or repeated suction that irritates the nose.

· Clean afterward: Wash approved removable parts and replace filters as directed.

Our nasal aspirator collection includes models with adjustable suction and soft silicone tips. Call your pediatrician for poor feeding or worsening symptoms; seek emergency help for struggling breaths or blue lips.
